June 25th, 2013. Furniture, Creative DIY Life Hacks Using Simple Items.
Sometimes items of seemingly no use at all could actually be very useful. Sometimes some items of one particular function could be used for something else. These are the underlying concept of creative life hacks. My friend has recently demonstrated me how he could turn some trifles—items of small matter, into DIY life hacks that are not only useful, but also unique in appearance. The trifles vary from simple tennis ball to empty plastic container.
DIY is a term that stands for Do It Yourself. As the term may suggest, the heart of the concept of DIY items are to be simple enough that a person could make it by himself. Such is the creative DIY inventions that are scattered around the house of my friend. A very good start would be the key and mail holder made of tennis ball. My friend made a little cut on a tennis ball enough to make a thin indent to clip his car key or mails in it. To make the design adorable, the tennis table is painted and has two eyes drawn on its surface.
The second invention would be a small paper plant pot. The paper plan pot is a pot made of paper. The paper that my friend used, however, surprisingly came from toilet paper roll. He cut the paper roll and folds it into cornered cubical shape, and after reinforcing some parts with glue, a plant pot is then ready.
There is no limit to the making of DIY useful items so long as there is creativity. Another good example of my friend’s handmade functional item is cleaning spatula. Instead of buying a new one from nearby plastic tool shop, my friend made it himself from an empty plastic detergent container. Cutting some details of the plastic container using knife and scissor, he got himself a one-of-a-kind spatula of adorable design.
